In one word, professional service by a professional. Wine stain was removed to the best of their ability and it's hardly noticeable now. Arrived on time, set the expectations and got the job done. Highly recommended.ll

We got Crystal Clean Carpet and Tiles for our end of lease carpet steam cleaning. Fully carpeted 3 bedroom house (with carpeted dining and living). The customer service was terrific, Saydee was very professional and friendly. Steam cleaning was done in excellent condition, we received out bond back in full. Overall, great quality service. Would recommend to anyone looking to steam clean their place (very affordable).

We recently had Crystal Clean Carpet's come out to our home to steam clean our carpet. We live in a share house with very old cream carpet that receives a large amount of foot traffic. The carpet had a number of stains and walked in dirt which previously could not be removed by dry cleaning. The results from our recent clean by Crystal Clean Carpets is AMAZING! All the stains have been removed and we could not be happier with how the carpet looks now. The workman was friendly, quick and thorough with his work and I would highly recommend their service for both carpets and shower cleaning.
Rugs need a different level of care to fitted carpet. Fibre type, dye stability and construction all affect how a rug should be cleaned, and getting it wrong can mean shrinkage, colour bleeding, or a rug that never quite looks the same again.
Crystal Clean Carpet & Tiles has been cleaning carpets, rugs and upholstery across Melbourne homes and businesses since 2007. We assess each rug individually before choosing the right approach, using a Prochem Everest 650 HP truckmounted system to deliver a deep, safe clean without putting your rug at risk.
Our rug cleaning process is built around care and assessment at every stage, not a one-size-fits-all wash.
01
We check the rug's fibre type, whether it's wool, synthetic, silk or a natural fibre blend, along with its construction (machine-made or handwoven), and test for colourfastness before any product touches the rug.
02
We clear the space around the rug, install corner guards where needed, and set up safely to protect surrounding floors and furniture.
03
Loose dirt, dust, hair and grit are removed from both the rug's surface and its fringe.
04
Stains and heavily soiled patches get an appropriate spot treatment before the main clean begins.
05
A professional pre-spray suited to the rug's specific fibre is applied evenly and left to dwell, loosening embedded soil and odour.
06
We rinse and extract dirt, allergens, odours and cleaning solution, adjusting pressure and moisture levels for more delicate rug fibres compared to standard carpet.
07
The pile is groomed in the direction of the weave to restore appearance and support even drying.
Yes. Handwoven and natural fibre rugs, including wool and Persian-style rugs, need extra care because of their dye and weave. We test for colourfastness before applying any product, and adjust pressure, dwell time and drying method to suit the specific rug rather than treating it like standard carpet.
Colour bleeding is a real risk with some handwoven and naturally dyed rugs, which is why we always test a small, hidden area for colourfastness before starting. If a rug shows any risk of dye transfer, our technician will talk you through the safest way to proceed before any cleaning begins, rather than risking the rug to save time.
We use biodegradable, non-toxic cleaning solutions, so there’s no harmful residue left behind for your family or pets. We also use premium-grade cleaning chemicals rather than cheaper alternatives, because rugs, especially natural fibre and handwoven pieces, deserve a gentler yet more effective clean.

Founder Serage Fikak started the business in 2007 focused on commercial cleaning, before shifting toward family-friendly residential cleaning after his own child was born with severe eczema in 2009. That first-hand experience still shapes how we approach every job, including rug cleaning.

Our technicians are trained to Certificate III in Asset Maintenance (Carpet Cleaning), code PRM30604, through Jena Dyco International, which covers upholstery and fabric cleaning alongside carpet care. We hold $20,000,000 in public liability insurance through Allianz, and were a Word of Mouth Service Award winner every year from 2014 to 2018.
Rug cleaning costs depend on the size of the rug, its fibre type, its condition, and the level of soiling or staining involved. Delicate or handwoven rugs may need extra time and care, which can also affect price. Rather than guessing, we assess your specific rug and give you an honest, accurate price, no obligation, no guesswork.
Yes, in many cases. If your rug is otherwise clean and only has one specific mark, from wine, pet accidents, or a general spill, a full rug clean may not be necessary. Our spot and stain removal service targets the affected area directly, using a spotting agent matched to the type of stain. Let us know what caused the mark when you get in touch, and we’ll recommend whether a full clean or a targeted treatment is the better option for your rug.
Most rugs are cleaned on location as part of your visit. For very delicate, valuable or heavily soiled rugs, our technician will assess the best approach during inspection and talk you through it before starting.
Drying time depends on the rug’s fibre, thickness and your home’s airflow. Wool and natural fibre rugs generally take longer to dry than synthetic ones. Our technician will give you a realistic timeframe on the day.
In many cases, yes. If odour is a concern alongside general soiling, let us know when booking, and we can talk you through our dedicated odour removal service as an add-on if needed.
Most rugs benefit from a professional clean every twelve months, though high-traffic areas, homes with pets, or rugs prone to allergens may need more frequent attention.
Yes. We back our rug cleaning service with our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.
Rugs are rarely the only thing that needs attention in a home, so many of our customers book one of these services alongside their rug clean.
